Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Sage Haven For Kids website at sagehavenforkids.org or the Sage Haven For Kids mobile application (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
The Service is operated by Sage Haven For Kids, headquartered at 1105 112th Ave NE, Suite 300, Bellevue, WA 98004 ("we", "us", or "our").
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service. The Service is designed for parents and legal guardians to manage settings for children in their care. Children under 13 may not create their own accounts.
3. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must register for an account and provide accurate information including a valid email address. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Subscriptions and Payment
The Service is offered on a subscription basis. Current subscription plans and pricing are available at sagehavenforkids.org/pricing. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
- Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance
- Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from within the app's account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access until then
- Refunds: We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods. Exceptions may be made at our discretion
- Free trial: We offer a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start a trial. If you add payment information, you will not be charged until the trial ends
- Price changes: We will notify you of price changes at least 30 days in advance
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose — monitoring and managing your own children's digital activity in your household. You agree not to:
- Use the Service to monitor any individual without their parent or guardian's knowledge and consent (where required by law)
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Transmit malware, spam, or unauthorized advertising
- Impersonate any person or entity
6. Children's Privacy
The Service is designed with children's privacy as a core principle. Our handling of children's data complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Parents are responsible for all child profiles created under their account. See our Privacy Policy and COPPA Notice for details.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including text, graphics, logos, software, and the compilation thereof — are owned by Sage Haven For Kids and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. No parental control technology provides absolute filtering, and parents should not rely solely on the Service to protect children from all inappropriate content.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAGE HAVEN FOR KIDS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon account closure, we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of King County, Washington, or, where applicable, through binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
