1. Introduction

Sage Haven For Kids ("we", "us", or "our") operates sagehavenforkids.org and the Sage Haven For Kids mobile application (together, the "Service"). Our principal place of business is 1105 112th Ave NE, Suite 300, Bellevue, WA 98004.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use our Service. It also explains the rights you may have regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Account registration: Parent name, email address, password (hashed)
Child profile: Child's first name and age (entered by parent)
Support communications: Messages you send to our support team
Billing: Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage data: App category usage totals, screen time aggregate totals, feature interactions
Device data: Device type, operating system version, app version
Log data: IP address, access times, pages visited on sagehavenforkids.org

2.3 What We Do NOT Collect

Individual website browsing history of the child
Content of messages or communications on the child's device
Biometric data of any kind
Social media profiles or content
Individual app names (only app categories)

3. How We Use Your Information

Providing and maintaining the Service (screen time controls, reports, content filters)
Generating weekly/daily usage reports for the parent account
Sending account notifications and transactional emails (via SendGrid)
Processing subscription billing (via Stripe)
Providing customer support and responding to requests
Improving our Service through aggregated, de-identified usage analytics
Complying with applicable law and legal process

We do not use your information or your child's information for advertising targeting, behavioral profiling, or marketing analytics.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share personal information only in these limited circumstances:

Stripe: Payment processing. Receives parent billing information only. PCI DSS compliant. Never receives child data.
AWS (Amazon Web Services): Cloud hosting infrastructure (US-West-2, Oregon). Data encrypted in transit and at rest.
SendGrid: Transactional email delivery. Receives parent email addresses only. No marketing lists.
Plausible Analytics: Privacy-first website analytics for sagehavenforkids.org only. No cookies, no personal data, no cross-site tracking.
Legal compliance: When required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. When you cancel your subscription:

Account data is deleted within 90 days
You can request immediate deletion at any time by emailing [email protected] with subject "Delete My Data"
Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics may be retained for product improvement

6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA/CPRA:

Right to Delete: Request deletion of personal information we have collected

We implement industry-standard security practices including:

Encryption at rest on AWS infrastructure
Hashed password storage (bcrypt)
Limited internal access to personal data (principle of least privilege)

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

8. Children's Privacy — COPPA Notice

Sage Haven For Kids is a parental monitoring service. Our Service is designed for parents and legal guardians, not for use directly by children under 13. The following describes how we handle the limited personal information about children that parents enter on behalf of their child.

Only adults can create a Sage Haven account (email verification required)
Before adding a child profile, parents are presented with a plain-language disclosure of our data practices
Parents provide explicit consent on behalf of their child before any child data is collected

8.3 Parental Rights Under COPPA

As a parent or legal guardian, you have the right to:

Review personal information we have collected about your child
Request deletion of your child's personal information
Refuse further collection or use of your child's information by deleting their profile

8.4 No Child-Directed Advertising

We do not run advertisements of any kind on Sage Haven. We do not build advertising profiles on children. We do not sell or share children's personal information with any third party for marketing purposes.

9. Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies on sagehavenforkids.org. See our Cookie Policy for details. Our mobile app does not use browser cookies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email (to the address on your account) at least 30 days before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
